Tesco and political administration intentionally ignore tribesmen demands for provision of power supply to mitigate people’s sufferings in this chilly weather.
People will be sensitized to come on roads for holding protest peacefully so as to press the relevant authorities to provide power supply on fair basis. The common tribesmen and social groups also began contacts to arrange a big protest demonstration against power suspension in Landikotal sub-division of Khyber Agency.
It is no more tolerable to wait for government action as power suspension has caused potable water scarcity in the whole area.
ANP Khyber Agency president Shah Hussain Shinwari vowed that it was the only solution to bring the people to the roads for protesting against the bias of the TESCO authorities, which had created multiple problems for the tribesmen through stoppage of the power supply on fair basis.
“JI’s proposed all parties conference convention is a good omen to unite the political parties to force the authorities to end the ongoing break down of electricity in region,” ANP leader said, adding that grid officials in Landikotal were also behaving with discrimination with regard to distribution of electricity to meet water needs of the people.
“The tribesmen can no more sustain the discrimination on the part of the TESCO. The duration of power supply must be increased sufficiently to address the peoples’ grievances,” ANP leader Shah Hussain Shinwari observed.
JI FATA leader Zarnoor Afridi said some of the political leaders of various parties had already been contacted in this regard to create consensus against the mistreatment on the part of the TESCO officials.
Another JI leader Abdul Rauf Shinwari also urged the common tribal people to support the political parties by participating in their demonstration.
Khyber Transport Union leader said the masses would be given shortly a call to come out to record their peace protest in Khyber.
Afzal Khan, Iran Khan and Shahid Afridi, the social activists have also strongly condemned the TESCO authorities for pushing the tribal people to the wall. They regretted that political administration was also not serious to control the twenty four hours load shedding that had brought the daily life to the standstill.
Political tehsildar Landikotal Shakeel Burki said that TESCO officials had been asked to provide maximum power supply to overcome the crisis. He said that a mobile power generator would be utilized for running tube wells in the area to control water shortage in the area
